Cannabis Laboratory Account Executive (Minneapolis, MN)


Our team is looking to hire a Cannabis Laboratory Account Executive to support sales and promote services to the legal cannabis industry in the Greater Minnesota area. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


Sales and Revenue Generation, Client Acquisition and Relationship Management, Market Research and Analysis, Strategic planning, Regulatory Compliance.


  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the overall goals of the laboratory.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are understood and met through effective communication and collaboration.

  • Achieve revenue targets through effective sales strategies, negotiations, and closing deals.

  • Develop and present compelling proposals, presentations, and product demonstrations to prospective clients.

  • Educate growers and processors about the utility of our regulated and non-regulated testing portfolio.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate business development plans with laboratory capabilities.

  • Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to develop effective business strategies.

  • Identify and engage potential clients, including cannabis producers, processors, and distributors, to promote laboratory services within assigned territory.

  • Ensure that business development activities align with legal and regulatory standards.

  • Take ownership of client onboarding, test ordering, and specimen tracking through documenting activity in CRM and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). 

  • Stay informed about relevant regulations and compliance requirements within the cannabis industry.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of the cannabis industry, particularly in laboratory testing and compliance.

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing business strategies in a related industry.

  • Experience in sales, preferably in a B2B context.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and compelling manner.

  • Ability to establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders.

  • Must pass all required background checks.

  • Must be at least 21 yrs old.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Advanced degree in business, marketing, or a relevant scientific field.

  • Relevant certifications in business development, sales, or cannabis industry regulations.

  • Established network within the cannabis industry, including key decision-makers and influencers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT


  • Duties are performed in a hybrid setting with office duties, field work, and remote access.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS


  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and reach.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS


  • Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 + sales commission

  • Medical and Dental Insurance

  • Matching 401(k)
